Camp Netanya: Little Santorini in Batangas

Greece has long been a mainstay of travelers' or basically EVERYONE’s bucket lists. The Acropolis would always be seen on social media when the topic is about traveling. Luckily enough, we have a simulacrum in the Philippines that is only 2-3 hours away from Metro Manila.

You will instantly see the spine-tingling view of the sophisticated purlieu as you enter the resort. And this is just the view from the parking lot.

The breathtaking vista, confounding architecture of ocean blue splotches and chaste whitewashed facade will help you survive the unbearable heat.

The ambiance unconsciously makes you forget all your problems, only letting you tranquilize and enjoy. That’s how beautiful the place is!

(P.S. The temperature was a bit better by noon. :D)

What’s really eye-catching is the pool that flawlessly blends into Anilao’s Balayan Bay where you can bask in the panoramic sunrises and sunsets.

Divided into three section: A splash pool for toddlers, 4 feet wading pool for kids and 12 feet past the ropes near the end of the pool.

One downside, there is no beach front; as soon as you get down the pool area you’ll meet with the sea right away.

However, a great compensation for such is the free usage of the kayaks, pedal boats and snorkeling gears.

There are only 10 rooms which is both a good and bad thing. If you have a big family like mine who loves to try new resorts, there is no guarantee that per family will be accommodated unless reserved not during the peak season. On the brighter side, even if there are other people around, placidness will still be surely maintained.

Contacting the resort isn’t as easy as it seems, their only contact number is either always busy or is unattended. You need to have a lot of patience in trying to reserve and book a room before going. If you are planning to go to Camp Netanya which also known as “Little Santorini of the Philippines”, I strongly suggest you make reservations at least 2-3 weeks before your target date.

Day trip rate as of 2015 (inclusive of kayak, pedal boat, snorkeling gear usage):

P500 for 5 years old and above

P250 for children 4 and below

Day trip room rate:

P2,500 (+ P500 per head entrance fee)

Time: 9am-6pm

UPDATED RATES AS OF 2017:

Weekdays P1,500 per guest Weekends P1,700 per guest

A day trip to the resort is highly commendable for those with private vehicles. Tents or umbrellas will be set up near the pool area as soon as you register. There is an air-conditioned dining area where you can stay when you really can’t stand the heat anymore. You are allowed to bring packed meals and snacks; they also serve food that ranges from P150-P500 per dish if I’m not mistaken. The dining area also has a bathroom where you can take a shower after swimming or snorkeling (I know a lot of people who are hesitant to go on a day trip because of fear that the bathroom might be unpleasant, but fret not. The common bathroom is similar to the guest room bathrooms. 101% clean and decent!).

Overnight rates:

P7,000-P50,000

Resort Address: Brgy Ligaya, Anilao Mabini Batangas, 4202 Philippines
